NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, August 14, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Going from Kitchen to Court, famed restaurateur, author and 2017 James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Chef Michael Solomonov, is on board to prepare a multi-course feast for Israel Tennis Centers Foundation annual fundraiser set for November 1, 2018 at Zavo in Manhattan.

“I am so proud of my Israeli heritage, and my passion for the incredibly rich world of Israeli cuisine has changed my life and shown me my life’s mission. Israel Tennis Centers is also changing lives for thousands of young Israelis by teaching life skills of self-reliance, perseverance and focus, and I am excited to create a meal in order to raise money for this very worthwhile cause.” states Michael Solomonov.

The Israel Tennis Centers Celebrity Chef Dinner is slated for Thursday, November 1st and will begin with a cocktail hour, starting at 6PM, followed by an intimate, seated multi-course dinner, chef meet and greet, wine-pairing, live auction and more, all benefiting scholarships to help vulnerable children overcome adversity through tennis and education at the Israel Tennis Centers Foundation.

The menu will include some favorites from Solomonov’s highly-acclaimed restaurant, Zahav, in Philadelphia, where it typically takes months to get a reservation. However, for this very special occasion, the menu will be kosher (following traditional Jewish dietary laws), which is not the norm at his other eateries.

“For foodies everywhere, this is a very special treat,” states Wendy Slavin, Event Co-Chair “But for people that are kosher – well - they are over the moon – to have the chance to eat a meal prepared by Chef Solomonov.”

“We are absolutely thrilled and honored to have Michael with us for our annual event,” states Claudine Nussdorf, Event Co-chair. “And are so proud to be associated with this globally recognized top chef – for what he has achieved, for both himself as a phenomenal chef and for Israeli cuisine.”

Israel Tennis Centers Foundation is an organization dedicated to creating lasting peace in one of the most turbulent areas in the world. Through tennis and education, their goal is to teach children of all backgrounds at the Israel Tennis Centers how to live successful lives. "Through the skills learned on the court, we teach our children in an environment of inclusiveness, unity, respect, diversity and caring," states Jacqueline Glodstein, Executive Vice President of Global Development. "As we believe, this will set them on the path to building lasting peace within their communities."

The focus of the ITC is on changing children’s lives every day so they can become better human beings. Through its social impact programs, a wide range of children are served, including youth at risk, immigrants from Ethiopian and Russia and children with special needs, from autism and ADHD to Down Syndrome as well as those with developmental and physical disabilities. The ITC also recognizes the ability of tennis to bring together children from different religions as seen in its highly successful Coexistence Program.
