Georgia Tech built a 14-point first-half lead, but top-seeded and No. 1-ranked Duke rallied to defeat the Yellow Jackets 78-70 in Thursday's ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament quarterfinals.The loss ended Georgia Tech's run in the tournament, but the Yellow Jackets (17-16) have won nine of their last 14 games and remain in contention for their first postseason berth since 2021. They will learn their postseason fate on Sunday.Georgia Tech came out strong, shooting 47.6% in the first half while holding Duke to just 26.1%. A tip-in by Baye Ndongo gave the Jackets a 26-12 lead with 5:02 remaining in the first. Tech led 31-26 at halftime.However, Duke (29-3) responded with a 12-0 run to start the second half, taking a 38-31 lead. The Blue Devils stretched their advantage to as much as 11 points before Georgia Tech cut the deficit to six in the final minute. Despite their fight, the Jackets couldn’t complete the comeback.Duncan Powell led Georgia Tech with 24 points, while Ndongo added 15 and Lance Terry contributed 12. Duke’s Kon Knueppel led all scorers with 28 points.With the win, Duke advances to Friday’s semifinals, where they’ll face the winner of Thursday's Wake Forest-North Carolina matchup.Postgame Notes:Georgia Tech is 2-5 vs. top-25 teams this season, including a win over then-No. 21 Clemson.The Jackets have won four of their last six games, six of their last nine, and eight of their last 12 since Feb. 1.Powell tied his career high with six three-pointers against Duke.Freshman Darrion Sutton recorded a season-high six points, including his first career 3-pointers.Tech ranks last in the ACC in free-throw percentage but has shot 78.6% in their last six games.
