For first time: Jordan sends new aid convoy to Gaza through Beit Hanoun crossing

Ammon News - Jordan sends on Wednesday a new aid convoy for the people in Gaza, through the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).

For the first time, aid will be brought into the northern Gaza Strip through the Beit Hanoun crossing (Erez Crossing), through which 31 trucks will enter, making the crossing a new crossing gateway for the entry of Jordanian aid to the people in Gaza, according to JHCO's statement.

The Jordanian convoy also includes 48 other trucks that will cross through the Karam Abu Salem crossing, bringing the total number of trucks marching for today to 79 trucks.

The convoy, in partnership with the World Food Program (WFP) and a number of international charitable organizations and supporting institutions, carries food parcels and infant formula.

The aid that enters for the first time through the Beit Hanoun crossing will be delivered to the people in northern Gaza, and distributed through partner associations and organizations in the Strip.

JHCO's Secretary-General, Hussein Shibli, said that Jordan is constantly working to increase the number of convoys entering the Gaza Strip, he said also, "Based on the royal directive and as an expression of the Jordanian position, we seek to reach the largest possible number of our people in Gaza and carry out our humanitarian duty and open more From the crossings."

The total number of land trucks that have entered the Gaza Strip to date has reached 1,242 trucks and 57 planes via El-Arish, and 90 Jordanian landings and 225 landings by friendly and brotherly countries were carried out, Shibli added.

The JHCO remains open to receiving monetary donations through its designated bank account at the Union Bank of Jordan, Al-Wehdat branch.
