Marintec Indonesia confirms record international participation

Marintec Indonesia, Oil & Gas Indonesia and Mining Indonesia will take place from 13-16 September 2017 at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran.

JAKARTA, Indonesia – The leading event for the maritime and shipbuilding industry, Marintec Indonesia, organized by UBM Asia, is set to open its doors once again from 13-16 September 2017 at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran. The highly focused exhibition and conference will bring together over 3,000 trade visitors from 23 countries and more than 120 exhibiting companies from 15 countries including Panama, Portugal, UK, Japan and India.

The economy of the maritime sector is expected to reach USD 5 billion per year as Indonesia develops the three archipelagic sea lanes (ALKI) with an intrinsic very high potential of trade value (Source: World Food Programme (FAO)). In order to advance development at a fast pace, the government aims to attract foreign direct investments by cutting red tape, facilitating business and operations. Marintec Indonesia serves the industry well at a critical time with its array of educational platforms and workshops including the Maritime Conference, the Marine Corrosion Seminar, the Indonesia-Korea Business Forum and shipyard visits.

Marintec Indonesia will be held alongside Oil & Gas Indonesia, Indonesia’s comprehensive exhibition for petroleum exploration, production and refining services and products. The offshore oil and gas industry represents a major segment of the maritime market in Indonesia. Mining Indonesia expo will also be held alongside both Marintec Indonesia and Oil and Gas Indonesia as transportation of mineral resources is one of the key markets for Indonesia’s ship operators. The three exhibitions held side by side will present significant synergies for both suppliers and buyers and enhance business opportunities. “The co-location of these three exhibitions, each of which serves a vital sector of Indonesia’s economy, is a very exciting development that is certain to yield new business opportunities for all participants,” said Christopher Eve, President Director of PT. UBM Pameran Niaga Indonesia. “Marintec Indonesia has rapidly established itself as Indonesia’s leading event for the maritime industry and enjoys the full support of Indonesia’s shipbuilders and ship owners. They will now have an enhanced platform to meet directly with their customers and partners in the offshore and mining industries,” he commented.
